Renewals available until end of season
Carlisle United Football Club are pleased to announce an extension to the deadline for season ticket renewals having listened to feedback from our fans.
The renewal period, for existing season ticket holders, was set to close after the Oldham game on Saturday but has now been extended until 5pm on Tuesday 6 May.
“We’ve spoken to people who told us they weren’t aware of the weekend deadline and concerns were raised over which division we would be in next season, and about the deadline closing before their monthly pay day,” managing director John Nixon said.
“Numbers are down by about 100 on the same stage last season but we do usually see an increase in uptake through the last few days of the month, after people have been paid. Those who have already renewed have naturally expressed disappointment at the way this season has gone but they are also determined to stick by us as we look to turn things round.”
Season ticket holders for the 2014/15 season will receive a range of additional benefits including 25% off all advanced bookings on rail travel with Virgin Trains for up to two people per journey.
Stuart Davison, Virgin Trains’ customer experience manager, said: “This shows the great savings that CUFC fans will be able to get, not just on match days but throughout the year. Whether it’s a weekend break for two in London, Glasgow or any of the other destinations on the Virgin Trains network, season ticket holders will be one step ahead of the game.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of customers onto our trains thanks to these savings and introducing them to the great service we have to offer. We’re also hopeful that this offer will help the club attract new season ticket holders as the benefits of this offer become clear.”
Southern-based supporter Mike Carruthers said: “I always purchase a season ticket and I tend to travel up to Carlisle once a month. That means I usually get to see about ten home games a season. I come up to Cumbria on the train and the announcement of the 25% discount with Virgin Trains will mean I make a significant saving over the course of the year. It will effectively pay for my season ticket.
“When you factor in that the discount applies for all travel with Virgin Trains, and not just match day travel, I think you start to see that this can only be a good deal for Carlisle United and its fans. It’s a great move from the club and from Virgin Trains because it gives an opportunity for significant savings to be made for everyone who follows their team.”

Early Buy: Wednesday 7 May – Friday 13 June
Standard: Monday 16 June – Friday 25 July
