United fans receive competition prizes

Virgin Trains competition winners Eddie Crawford and Stuart Gardhouse popped along to Brunton Park this week to collect the rail travel tickets they won at the Brunton Park Fun Day ahead of the big season kick off.

Eddie and Stuart entered their names into the prize draw at the Virgin Trains stand on the day and were delighted to hear that they had won return travel, to a destination of their choice, with the club’s new official travel partner.

“We’re thinking of using our tickets to get to an away game,” Stuart told us. “My son Josh and I are big fans and we both think that would be a good way to make it a really enjoyable trip. We’d like to thank Virgin Trains because this is a fantastic prize and it goes without saying that we are really happy to win it.”

“The good thing about this is that Virgin Trains haven’t put any timescale on it,” Eddie explained. “I brought Ollie with me today and we have decided that we will probably use the tickets for a family break. Again, we would like to thank Virgin Trains for running such a great competition.”

Virgin Trains’ Carlisle and Penrith station manager Paul Nairn said: “It was good to meet the winners and to hear how well the prizes had been received. We had a very high number of entries on the day and we felt it was a great way to introduce ourselves as the club’s official travel partners.

“Hopefully the relationship will continue to grow as we continue to work together through our first season of partnership.”

Helping you get there:

Virgin Trains - Our Official Travel Partner

When you’re following Carlisle United away from home this season, book yourself a ticket on Virgin Trains and get to the heart of the action in the fastest and most comfortable way possible.

A sneaky bit of advice ... to get the best value fares make sure you book in advance - but hurry as the lowest fares get snapped up early. Travelling off peak (avoid busy times like Friday evenings) and being flexible with your travel plans can also help you find the best deals available.

If you are booking travel for an afternoon or evening game please be sure to double check the return journey time is suitable (some of our last services may depart before the final whistle goes!).
