Connor Hammell and Patrick Brough scored ahead of the break to give United a 2-1 lead at home to Wigan and a third goal for the young Blues - a second for Brough - did the job as they came away with a confidence boosting victory.
"It was a very good game where both teams tried to play football," coach Dave Wilkes said. "We played some good stuff and created some decent chances, so I'm delighted for the lads."
