Latest on the striker transfer
Carlisle United Football Club can confirm they have still not received international clearance for striker Mathieu Manset and that the player will not therefore be available for the trip to Orient this weekend.
“The delay appears to be in Switzerland and we are investigating the issue further,” managing director John Nixon said.
“With any situation where a player comes from another country, the club which held the registration gets seven days to complete the necessary clearance paperwork.
“With Mathieu, the clearance request was lodged on Monday morning so that effectively gives FC Sion, the Swiss FA and the English FA until next Monday to complete their clearance procedures.
“All we can do now is wait for the paperwork to come through so that we can then register the player and we can move on from there.”
