Match details - Attendance 405

2 mins - Patient build up from United, with Noble at the heart of it, and a clipped cross from Robson as Beck pulled clear. Grundy did well to clear it.

3 mins - Deacy found space on the right and wasted no time in making his delivery. Cowperthwaite stepped in before Robson could get a touch.

9 mins - Defence splitting pass from Cowperthwaite released McGeechan on the edge of the box. He went for a first time shot which fizzed just wide of the upright.

11 mins - A pass from left to right from Deacey found Symington with time on his hands. A heavy first touch robbed him of the chance of completing the move.

16 mins - More great football from Kendal opened things up but Clark scuffed his shot as he ran onto the inch perfect pass from Wilson.

16 mins - United counter attacked immediately with a long ball over the top from Noble. Robson took a touch to set himself but crunched his volley right at Dootson.

25 mins - Dave Symington let fly with a 35-yard free kick but it crashed into the wall and was thumped away to safety.

26 mins - Clark won a corner for Kendal but McGeechan curled it harmlessly onto the roof of the net.

32 mins - Robson shielded the ball with his back to goal before laying it off for Weldon to cross. Symington struck a first-time volley but the defender was there to block it.

33 mins - Symington beat his man and dinked the ball to the back post where Robson bought a yard of space off the shoulder of his man. He tried to place his volley but succeeded only in cushioning it back across the face of goal.

35 mins - A wicked free kick from Noble skimmed off O'Hanlon and bounced just wide of the target as Beck stretched to touch it.

36 mins - Maison McGeechan timed his run well and beat the offside trap to go one-on-one with Thomson. He steadied himself and left the keeper with no chance as he smashed it in off the inside of the post.

38 mins - Clark had a shot blocked as Kendal pressed forward and Connerton followed up with a volley which flashed past the angle of post and bar.

38 mins - Carlisle broke and Noble found himself with a clear sight of goal on the edge of the box. Dootson stood tall and made the save.

38 mins - Blue shirts camped forward but Robson got the ball stuck under his boots as he bullied his way through. He tried to push it into the path of Todd but Grundy was back to cover.

41 mins - Noble spread the play with a pass for Symington as the young winger left his man for dead. Cowperthwaite intercepted the cross but his touch sent the ball onto Jordan Deacy's thigh. A wild ricochet left Dootson rooted to the spot as it spun and bobbled its way just wide.

45 mins - Mitchley spun and shot in one smooth movement and it needed a smart save from Thomson to prevent the hosts from doubling their lead.

48 mins - Connerton fed a pass through the back four but Mitchley couldn't keep his first time shot down and it sailed off into the stands.

50 mins - Gwinnutt sparked an attack with a ball to release Symington on the right. His cross found Robson but Dootson did well to dive low and make the save. Beck sung a boot at the loose ball and Grundy showed good awareness as he put himself in the way of a goal-bound drive from Todd.
