ACADEMY: U11 Keele trip a success

28 July 2013

Fantastic experience for the group

Our Academy U11 side took a trip into the unknown recently when they signed up for the Keele U11 tournament which gave them the opportunity to pit their wits against sides they wouldn't normally play.

Academy coach Ben Benson said: "The lads did really well and it was a fantastic experience for them.

"It was thoroughly enjoyable and the opposition, which included a team from Trinidad and Tobago (pictured below), gave us plenty to think about.

"The players and staff have all learned a lot from it and it's something we are certainly going to do again next season. We drew a lot of plaudits for our style of play and for the way we represented the football club. This is going to give our players a fantastic springboard for the upcoming season."

"I would like to pass on a massive thank you on behalf on the players and staff to all of the parents who made the trip possible," he added. "I, along with the support staff of Mark Birch and John Easton, would also like to thank the players for their efforts.

"They were all a massive credit to their families and to Carlisle United Football Club."
