Result from the Youth Alliance Cup game
United were knocked out of the Youth Alliance Cup at the second round stage this morning following a very good home display from a Morecambe side who bagged two goals to seal the tie.
"We're obviously very disappointed because it's a competition we enjoy," youth coach Dave Wilkes said. "They got ahead in the first half and we put them under a heck of a lot of pressure after the break.
"Again we hit the woodwork and created a lot of chances but we ended up chasing the game and they broke away and got a second. We seem to be the saying the same things because the lads have actually played well but got nothing to show for it."
