O'Hanlon to miss season opener

Carlisle United can confirm that they will be without defender Sean O’Hanlon for the season opener against Leyton Orient at Brunton Park on Saturday [kick off 3pm].

O’Hanlon, who missed the home friendlies with Burnley and Bolton due to a niggling knee problem, continues to receive treatment heading into the weekend.

“We’re hopeful that he will be back with us sooner rather than later,” physio Neil Dalton said. “We will continue to assess him and we should know more once we get into next week and when we have seen how things are settling down.”

Meanwhile manager Greg Abbott confirmed that wide man Matt Robson is 'back in the mix' following a recent minor back problem.

"Matt is definitely in the frame for the weekend," Abbott said. "We rested him for the recent friendlies but he's in there for consideration with everyone else."

We'll have more on this injury update later today.
