YOUTH: Decisions made on second years

4 April 2013

Youth retained and released list

Carlisle United Football Club have today confirmed that youth defender Brandon Gwinnutt (17), midfielder Jack Lynch (17) and striker Alex Salmon (18) have been offered one-year professional deals having successfully completed a two-year YTS spell with the club.

"The easy part of this job is talking to the three lads who have made it through," manager Greg Abbott said.

"For the other lads it's not so nice because they have all worked exceptionally hard and it's a huge disappointment for them. There's nothing you can say to make it better for them, but these decisions have to be made.

"It goes without saying that we wish them all the very best as they move on from here."

Meanwhile second years Tom Berwick, Jamie Clarey, Dale Minor, Dillon Morse, Jordan Parker and Brad Staunch have been released as their spell with the club comes to an end.

We'll have full interviews with Greg Abbott and Eric Kinder on the official site later today as they talk about the decisions which have been made.
