INTERVIEW: Go out there to win it

30 November 2012

James Berrett ahead of the weekend

We caught up with midfielder James Berrett ahead of the weekend second round FA Cup fixture against Bournemouth to get his thoughts on the last couple of weeks and on what is bound to be another tough game.

Looking back at the Yeovil trip last Saturday, he said: “That win was long overdue as far as I'm concerned.

“If you look at the table you see that we’re in the bottom half, and we don’t want to be there. We needed that result as a team to give everyone a lift. Like I say, it’s been coming because we were unlucky not to get three points from Preston and Brentford. We played well in both of those but we didn’t get the result, which was frustrating. We needed to put it right and we’ve done that.”

“I don’t think confidence was ever really a problem,” he added. “We’ve got the belief in ourselves and we know we can do it. We believe in each other and we knew it was going to come.”

“I think everyone looks forward to the weekend,” he said. “It’s a cup game so there’s a different emphasis on it, but we’re going to go out there to win it.

“We’ve got something to prove against them because they came up here about and a month ago and won 4-2. So, we want to put that right ... and hopefully we can.”
