Hernia operation for defender
United defender Peter Murphy underwent a successful hernia operation on Wednesday evening and is now in the early stages of recovery.Murphy scored the only United goal in his last appearance against Leyton Orient two weeks ago but was diagnosed as having a hernia when he complained of a problem following that game.
"The surgeon has reported that the operation was a success and it's now a case of letting him get over the immediate effects of that before we start to build him up again," physio Neil Dalton said.
"We'll let it all settle down and then we can start to work on his rehab programme from there."
