Tuesday evening sessions
Last month an FA Mars Just Play Centre was set up in Carlisle for disabled adults (age 16+) to come along for a kick-about.
The session runs on a Tuesday evening between 7pm – 8pm at Newtown Community Primary School, Newtown Road, Carlisle.
Disability Football Development Officer, Jess Lawson said: "So far the centre has been a great success, seeing players young and old join our sessions and playing mini 4v4 games.
"It’s a great way for like-minded people to socialise, keep fit and learn some new football skills. This is one of three centres we run in the county, including Penrith and Workington, all led by local coaches and volunteers.
"The great thing about these training centres is how they support teams in our CUFC Ability Counts League which is now in its second season, attracting new teams and players, and continuing to do well."
Carlisle United FITC in connection with the Cumberland FA are working closely with local day service providers, agencies and special schools to get more participants through our doors. If you are interested, or know someone who may want to get involved in Pan-Disability football (excluding wheelchair & blind) then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
