Bugno assessing options
United manager Greg Abbott revealed tonight that defender Alessio Bugno has returned to Italy following what has been a difficult period for the Lombardy-born left back.
Bugno, 22, teamed up with the Cumbrians when they reported back for training at the beginning of July as he won the fans over with some determined displays during the friendly fixtures.
He made four appearances for the Blues at the start of the season but he struggled to fully settle and asked to be allowed to go home to consider his options at the end of last week.
"Alessio has found it hard to adjust and that has made it difficult for him on and off the pitch," Abbott explained. "He has gone back to Italy to look at his options and to decide what it is he wants to do.
"Players have to be completely happy or you don't get the best out of them. We have told Alessio to go and think about things, so he'll be away for a couple of weeks and we can take things from there."
His career thus far has seen him register for Renate, Albino Leffe, Pro Seste and Monza before he flew over to Cumbria to team up with Carlisle United in July.
