Grab a piece of history for a great cause
A local hospice is hoping that a special piece of Carlisle United’s recent history will raise money to support the care provided by their team of nurses.
On Thursday 6 December Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott donated a signed shirt to Eden Valley Hospice volunteer Jim Boyle, which the hospice is now hoping to auction. The historical shirt commemorates Carlisle United’s victory at Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final in 2011.
The local hospice are now looking for members of the local community and local business to make an offer for the shirt, which does have a minimum reserve bid to help raise much needed funds for the local hospice. The shirt has been signed by the match wining squad, including goal scorer Peter Murphy and Francois Zoko.
The successful bidder will not only win the signed framed shirt, they will also receive a signed picture of Peter Murphy celebrating the winning goal and a match programme.
If you would like to find out which Carlisle United players have signed the shirt please visit www.evhospice.org.uk or to make a bid call 01228 817613 or email fundraising@edenvalleyhospice.co.uk.
The auction for this piece of Carlisle United history will close on Friday 4 January 2013.
