#8kforMK: Club sponsors Rickerby donate tickets to two schools

Wiiliam Howard and Richard Rose benefit from business donation scheme

More youngsters have benefitted from our #8kforMK ticket donation scheme this week as club partner and sponsor Rickerby bought 100 tickets for the MK Dons home game next week [Saturday 16 February, kick off 3pm] to be used by local secondary school children.

Rickerby Groundscare Sales Manager Alistair McRobert met up with pupils from William Howard and Richard Rose on Thursday morning to hand over 50 tickets for each school for use at the important League Two game.

Speaking about the donation of tickets by Rickerby, Alistair said: “As pitch sponsor of Carlisle United we all feel at Rickerby that the #8kforMK initiative is a great idea.

“We thought that the best way to show our support was to offer tickets to local schools to try to encourage the next generation of supporters to go along to Brunton Park and enjoy a game at what is an exciting stage of the season.”

And the gang from Richard Rose received an extra boost when Paul Murray handed over a further 30 tickets for the Pioneer Stand as a thank you to the academy for allowing the first team to use their 3G pitches during the recent cold spell.

“We’ve built up an excellent relationship with David Carr and the PE department at Richard Rose,” Paul explained. “When the training pitches were frozen David was literally a phone call away, and we can’t thank him enough for his help.

“It meant we were able to prepare and train for games properly on an excellent surface just a short walk away from the stadium. We’ve been offered the use of the 3G pitch going forward, which is fantastic, and it’s another demonstration of how important it is to build up strong bonds like this in the local community.

“Giving the tickets to the pupils allows us to say thank you, and we hope they all enjoy the game when they come to see us next Saturday.”
