The badge, with the club crest sitting proudly alongside the poppy emblem, has been produced as a limited edition with 1,000 available for fans to purchase.

Retailing at a price of £6, we can confirm that £1 will be retained to cover the cost of production of each badge, with the remaining £5 from each sale set to be donated to the annual Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Chief executive Nigel Clibbens said: “As a club we are really keen to do as much as we can around Remembrance weekend and, with very strong links to the veteran community, we felt it was the right thing to do to go ahead and get a badge produced that gives our fans the opportunity to show their support at the same time as giving all of us the chance to raise vital funds for such a fantastic cause.

“It’s a limited edition, which makes it a little bit more special, with all cash raised, after costs, going to the Royal British Legion.”

Blues Store manager Stef McLean said: “Originally we were on the production list for the official Poppy Appeal pin badges, but when that didn’t come to fruition I felt we needed to do something for the fans who had been asking if we would be doing this this year.

“A huge thank you goes to Heritage Leisure Designs, who have turned this around really quickly for us. The badges are here and are on sale in-store and online as we speak.”

The Royal British Legion is at the heart of a national network that supports our Armed Forces community through thick and thin, ensuring that their unique contribution is never forgotten.

The Legion is there every step of the way, to help them with immediate needs, keeping families together in their homes and ensuring they are not disadvantaged because of their service.

The Legion uses donations to offer support in many ways, including providing crisis grants, researching the impact of blast injuries on the body, influencing the government to make changes on key issues that affect veterans, and advising on benefits and money problems.

Thank you once again for your support of the Poppy Appeal this year.
