The fixtures for the 2023/24 season are released in just over an hour’s time and, once those particular key dates become public knowledge, along with it will come the natural build up in excitement levels as trips are planned and opponents discussed.
“The promotion is fantastic for a number of reasons but with everything being so hectic, I don’t think for a lot of us it’s sunk in yet,” chief executive Nigel Clibbens told us.
“When we get the fixtures, I think that will be very special for everybody. We’ve waited a long time for this.
“We’ve looked at other clubs getting promoted and heard all the stuff about Carlisle being in League Two for so long.
“When we get the fixtures that will be a great day and will raise excitement levels. You look at the teams who are in League One, it’s going to be fantastic.
“We’re going to have some really big crowds, we’re going to see some new teams, visit some places we haven’t been for quite a while.
“It’s just going to be fantastic. Lots of people have waited a long time for this. I just want everybody to enjoy it and for us to do really well and, as I’ve said before, let’s put Carlisle on the map again.”
