Forward Max Brown bagged the only United goal in what became a disappointing performance as home side Aspatria mastered the conditions to win through to the next stages of the Cumberland Cup.
Youth coach Vince Overson said: "We weren't anywhere near our best in any way and that was disappointing.
"The conditions were poor but that's no excuse. We come away knowing we could and should have been better and we'll use it as another lesson for the lads to learn."
