Charity partners announced for the 2015/16 season

Carlisle United are delighted to announce our official charity partners for the 2015/16 season are as follows:

Carlisle United Football Club Community Sports Trust [CST] – A registered charity which is self-funding through its soccer schools and county wide coaching and education initiatives, including Walking Football, NCS, schools coaching packages, FUTSAL and a Foundation Degree in Coaching and Development.

Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland – Provides high quality care and support for patients who have palliative and end of life care needs.

Carlisle Key – Alleviates the hardship and distress caused by homelessness, housing, financial and other difficulties and helps young people towards independent living.

Sales and Marketing Director Phil King said: “As we said when we launched this campaign, we feel it’s important that our Community Sports Trust is one of our charity partners. The work they do is an integral part of the club’s vital community outreach programme and is widely recognised as a centre of excellence in its field.

“Our second charity partner was chosen by a public vote and we have to say thank you to everyone who took part. Just over 45% of those who registered voted for Hospice at Home and we’re looking forward to working what is a very worthy cause.

“The staff at the club chose Carlisle Key, our third charity partner, who do a lot of work with young people who are suffering hardship and distress caused by a range of circumstances out of their control.

"We'd like to thank everybody who showed their support for what we feel is an important campaign.”

Community Sports Trust manager John Halpin said: “I think this is a fantastic initiative from the club. It’s a great way of reaching out and into the community by helping to raise the profile of some excellent causes. The outcome of something like this can only ever be positive for all concerned, and I’m looking forward to being able to help to build some productive partnerships.”

Julie Blundell, Fundraising and Marketing Manager at Hospice at Home said: “This is tremendous news. We are overwhelmed that the fans vote of 45% was kindly pledged to Hospice at Home. This partnership will allow the Charity to become closer to CUFC, which will ultimately help raise funds and awareness within the community. I would like to say a special ‘thank you’ to both the Club and to all who voted.”
