CAP CUP: Colourful evening at Brunton Park

11 August 2014

Brunton Park to put on a special welcome for young fans

Wondering what to do with the family this summer? Why not take the kids to a football game? Head to Brunton Park, home of Carlisle United, where families in the North West are set for a treat when the Capital One Cup returns with football’s most child-friendly fixture.

Credit card company and League Cup sponsor Capital One has teamed up with Carlisle United in a bid to make children visiting Brunton Park feel extra welcome when they kick off their League Cup campaign against Derby County on August 11.

Children visiting the Cumbrian’s fixture will be greeted with a series of installations and activities including complimentary booster seats to make sure they get a great view of the action, free pick ‘n’ mix and face painters.

Capital One will also offer a specially-designed ticket for youngsters to colour in, then enter a competition to be in with a chance of winning tickets to the next Carlisle United home game.

Carlisle United chairman Andrew Jenkins, said: “With this great offer from Capital One we are expecting more kids than normal to be attending our Round 1 fixture – it’s a brilliant way to kick off the season.

“We’ll be offering a few unique initiatives on the night and hope that it will be a truly memorable game for the children.”

Jaidev Janardana, chief marketing officer at Capital One, said: “Summer holidays are always a tricky time for parents trying to keep their children entertained so we hope families across the country have taken advantage of our £1 ticket offer and enjoy a fun-filled evening.”

The Football League’s Chief Executive, Shaun Harvey, added “The £1 tickets for children was a fantastic initiative from Capital One and I hope to see thousands of young fans at all First Round matches. The opportunity to see their local club in Cup action is a great way to introduce young fans to live football.
