It was a tale of the spot-kicks at York on Saturday afternoon as United continued their unbeaten run with an excellent victory.
Joe Breen put his penalty in the back of the net to open the scoring and Lee Ashton earned hero status as he saved one to keep his side on top. Luke Lloyd also notched for the young Cumbrians as they battled hard to get their three points.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: "The lads played outstanding football at times. It was a great effort from all of them when you consider that we had five under-16 players in the squad due to our current injury situation.
"I'm really pleased because it was a very good overall performance."
