Midfielder Taylor Charters earned himself a two-year deal just two months into the second year of his YTS scholarship with the club in August 2019.
Having trained with the first team squad, and with a number of pre-season friendly appearances to his name, he settled quickly and notched up nine appearances during the 2019/20 season.
A triggered clause extended his stay until the summer of 2022. A half-season loan spell with Gateshead saw him play his part in their National League North title-winning campaign, and he was rewarded with a further one-year deal with his parent club upon his return.
An excellent 2021/22 season saw him make 19 appearances, and he wrote himself into the club history books when he stepped up to take the fifth and decisive penalty in the promotion winning pay-off final against Stockport County at Wembley in May 2023.
He was offered a two-year deal, which was accepted, and that keeps him at the club until the summer of 2025.
