FRIENDLY: Trip to Frenchfield Park Stadium on the agenda

United to face the Blues as part of pre-season programme

14 June 2018

Carlisle United Football Club can confirm that the second friendly of our July pre-season programme will be the short trip to the Frenchfield Park Stadium to face Penrith FC on Saturday 14 July [kick off 3pm].

A now regular pre-season feature, the Blues face the Northern Football League Blues in the second instalment of what is a six-game package being put together by new manager John Sheridan and his staff.

“These local fixtures are a big part of what the club does during July and I see no reason to change that,” the manager said. “I know we have a strong relationship with Penrith and we want that continue. I’m looking forward to taking a team there and to meeting everybody at what looks to be an excellent facility.

“This will be our second friendly fixture and I’m sure Penrith will give us a good test. It will be a good opportunity for us to step up our programme at a venue which is very close to Carlisle. Hopefully fans of both clubs will turn out in numbers for what I’m sure will be an enjoyable day.”
