Head of Youth Development Eric Kinder spoke to us about the 0-0 draw with Bury last weekend.
He said: "That was a very frustrating game.
"We've gone through pre-season and we have talked about the fact that we weren't sure where the goals were going to come from, and our first two games of this season have highlighted that for us again.
"In a game like that last season we'd have scored four or five goals, but we ended up hanging on a little bit in this one.
"They nearly nicked it in the closing stages and we shouldn't have been in that position. Their player was allowed to run intO our box with no-one tracking him and we nearly paid the price.
"Probably the most frustrating thing was the number of times we went through and didn't score. I think it's going to be that sort of season though. I think we'll see this team create chances and then fall short of actually putting them away, and it's something that we will have to work on.
"We have Mark Beck who has come right out of local football and we are falling out with each other at the moment. He thinks he's working hard, but I need more from him. That will come with him though as he has the potential to be a good player.
"The tempo and the work rate has to be higher from everyone. If that penny drops then we'll be ok, but it'll be very frustrating until it does.
"We can take a positive from the clean sheet, but we know that we are going to be hard to break down defensively. I don't think we'll give too many goals away but we need to capitalise on that, as a team, at the other end.
"We've had a blow with the news that Brad Potts has a stress fracture in his foot. He was looking really solid with Swinglehurst in central defence, and it would have been good to start the season with those two and Lance McGlen at right back.
"We have to get over that, and I still think that we'll be very hard to get through with the defenders that we have here. However, and we keep saying it, if the scores are level it just takes one little slip and all of the hard work is for nothing. That's why we have to start turning our possession into goals.
"There were so many good chances to score that we could talk about them for a long while. Some of them were opportunities that we have to take at this level. It is about development, of course it is, but we have to be getting the basics right so that we can build on it.
"I can't argue with the tempo and work rate, I will give them credit for that. They battled away in midfield and they tried to keep the ball moving, and it was just that final third that they struggled with. We need more quality in that area, there's no doubt about that.
"The problem could be that we don't have a natural goal scorer in this side. They are players who will have to work at it. We've been spoiled with the likes of Madine, Bowman and Cook over the last three years, and we need someone to take that type of job on. If any of those lads had been playing today they'd have put the game out of sight.
"We'll keep growling at this group and pushing them and hopefully we'll get somewhere with it all."
