MY BODY IS A TEMPLE

Posted on: Mon 30 Mar 2009

Youth captain Tom Aldred spoke about how proud he was to receive the League One Apprentice of the Year award at the Grosvenor Hotel in London last night when President of the PFA Gordon Taylor handed him his trophy.

He said: "It's beyond belief, just being in the top three I felt like a winner when coming here tonight.

"This is a fantastic achievement for both myself and the club. I'm yet to play in the first team, which is one of my main goals this season.

"I've played for my country and that was also a goal, but making the first team at Carlisle is my main aim. Hopefully winning an award like this is another step towards getting there.

"The gaffer has given me the day off on Monday so I'm going to enjoy this but, obviously my body is a temple and I've got to look after it!"

The awards ceremony will be broadcast on Sky Sports 1 on Tuesday evening at 7pm and again at 10pm.
