After recording a stunning win against Academy opposition in the third round of the FA youth Cup last night, and with the prospect of a visit to Old Trafford on the horizon, we caught up with several of the lads after the match to get their thoughts.

Matthew Wood: "Well, actually I didn't think we played as well as we could in the second half. With ten minutes to go I think we sort of started thinking, 'well let's just hold on and get it to extra time and we'll win it there.' Maybe I'm being harsh, because we did work hard. We were up for the penalties because we knew that we'd prepared for them, we'd been practising them and we were confident. Considering that they were an Academy side I thought we matched them all over the pitch, and man for man we were as good as them. They had a couple of lads up front who looked like good players, a guy called Matthew Bowman looked like a very good player, but apart from that I think we matched them. We just hope that Man United beat Brighton now so that we can go to Old Trafford and give them a game too. Right now I don't see why we couldn't give it a good go either. They're one of the best Academies in the country, probably the biggest club, and it would be great to go there and try to match ourselves against them and see what we could do."

Gary Madine: "What can I say, I signed professional forms in the morning, we beat Sheffield Wednesday in the evening and on Thursday we could find out that we'll be going to Old Trafford. This is definitely the best day, maybe the best week I've had in football so far. I think for the goal Woody helped it on and Cooky did really well to flick it round the corner, so I just took a swing at it really. In games like that, where you're playing Academy sides, good sides who are a step up, sometimes you're only going to get one chance as a forward, so it was important that I scored, and that I was ready for it when it came along. It was a nice one as well, but I'm just pleased it went in. It probably came at a good time for us as well. We'd looked a bit shaky at the start and they got an early goal, which was a blow. Our goal settled us down and I thought the lads did brilliantly just to dig in and pull it through and when it came to penalties, honestly, I wasn't nervous. It was bouncing in the dressing room afterwards and we're all just hoping that Man United get the right result against Brighton. If they do, hopefully it will be like last time against Liverpool and there will be loads of people come down to cheer us on."

Connor Tinnion: "The lads are absolutely buzzing. I've always supported Man United and now, hopefully, if they win I'm going to get the chance to go there and play. It's unbelievable! I'm desperate for them to beat Brighton now - I think everyone is. Eric told me to try and get at my man, to take him on and in the first half I thought I played OK, but in the second half I thought I was terrible. They got tighter in the second half and doubled up so I couldn't get at him as much. Fortunately, we've got a good team and I thought the lads were excellent. I knew we could beat them, because I think we're a good side. In the end we needed penalties, but we did it and that's what counts."

Dan Wordsworth: "It's brilliant, absolutely brilliant and I think the people who were here could see that by the celebration at the end. It was a good one. It was a really hard game, but we knew it was going to be. They were playing four lads who have played in their first team, for Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, so they are good players and a good side. We knew it was going to be tough but on the night I honestly thought we were the better side, and that's great for us to be able to say that. Mind you, we did have a bad start. I think you can put it down to nerves, because we were very shaky in the first ten minutes. By then we were 1-0 down, but I thought we showed great character to get ourselves back into it and, if we're honest, our goal came just at the right time for us. It settled us down and set us off, and after that I thought it was a fantastic performance."
