An incredible show of loyalty - and an eye for a bargain - has led to more than 800 season tickets already being snapped up by Carlisle United fans.

Last year, it took the club until June 4 to reach the level of sales it had managed by 5pm yesterday when the April 30 deadline for the newly-introduced spring-time Early Buy option expired.

It means that The Blues are already almost a third of the way towards the 2,700 season tickets which were sold for the 2008-09 campaign, which was the second highest total in the club's history.

United's managing director John Nixon said today: "It is absolutely phenomenal to have sold 806 season tickets for 2009-10 before the current campaign has finished and before we can even say which division we will be playing in next season.

"It says a lot about the loyalty of our fans for the club. We are all totally focused on bringing them League One football again next season and we will be working hard to try to offer all our season ticket holders even more value for money."

Next season will be the third on the run that season ticket prices at Brunton Park have been frozen.

But supporters who bought theirs for 2009-10 before the April 30 deadline actually paid up to £20 less because of the special pre-May Early Buy option, introduced for the first time this year.

However, there are still big savings to be made on season tickets for fans who buy theirs before the second and final Early Buy option on Friday June 12.

Season tickets bought before that deadline will cost from £280 for adults or family membership (one adult and up to two children), £205 for seniors, £145 for juniors and £40 for children. These prices represent the equivalent of between five and nine free games on full match-day admission prices.

As from now, season tickets can also be paid for over five equal monthly instalments to help ease the expense.

Last year, season tickets did not go on sale until May 15.

John added: "A lot of fans have taken advantage this time round of the opportunity to save an extra £20 by buying season tickets before the new April 30 deadline. The response we have had has been unbelievable, with people queueing to buy them in April.

"But there are still some great savings and some great deals on offer for fans who buy one before June 12, with plenty of free matches and other advantages. "

Season tickets can be purchased from the ticket office at Brunton Park or by calling its direct line on 0844 371 1921 or by emailing ticket.printing@carlisleunited.co.uk.
