Eric Kinder spoke to us about the 3-0 victory over Accrington last week:
"We are going into the New Year top of the Reserve table and I think, with the exception of probably a game against Rochdale, we have been very good at this level this season. I thought we were excellent against Accrington.
We have seen what is possibly the goal of the season in this game. Tony Kane couldn't have hit it any sweeter. It has been set back to him, he was 35 yards out, and he has hit it and it has absolutely gone like a rocket. It was a fantastic goal.
We had to take Ryan Bowman off when he aggravated a groin problem, and we had to have a bit of a re-think at half time. It was Greg Abbott's idea to play Richardson just behind Marc Bridge-Wilkinson and it worked a treat. We wanted to play out from the back and we were over-playing, because there wasn't an option to hit it long.
We kept having to get the midfield players on the ball and sometimes it looked a bit ugly. But we got it right in the end and we ran out comfortable winners, and I thought we played some decent stuff.
It's unusual at Reserve team level for Mark Gillespie to have a quiet afternoon, but it won't do him any harm at all. It was great to see Tom Aldred back in Carlisle colours. His spell away at Workington has obviously done him the world of good and he looks the part now. Tony Kane was absolutely outstanding and the defence protected the keeper really well.
We had a young side out, but they seem to keep producing performances. Marc Bridge-Wilkinson is the exception to that and he is dream to have in the Reserve team. He is excellent in the way that he does everything and the younger players learn from that.
Overall it was another good game for us, and it has been a good first half of the season for us."
