Eric Kinder spoke to us about the Reserve trip to Rochdale:
"I am delighted with the lads after this game.
It was 0-0 at half time but it was just one of those games where we couldn't score, despite the fact that we played some excellent football.
They scored a deflected goal that Alex Mitchell could do nothing about, then their second goal was a shocker.
Their lad pushed Jamie Cleary out of the way and it was a clear foul. The officials were saying that it was all down to strength, but it was nothing short of a shove. They went on and scored from it, and it was a horrendous decision. There's nothing that can be done about it now, but it was very frustrating at the time.
They were slightly older than us, but we dominated the game and it came down to the fact that we couldn't get the ball in the back of the net. It really is as simple as that.
Even though we lost this game I have left the ground feeling really positive. We were so much better on the night that I can take the fact that we lost on the chin.
We had shots going inches wide, Ryan Bowman missed a header that he will feel he should have scored from and Conor Tinnion sent one across the keeper that looked like it was going in.
I kept thinking that the goal was bound to come with the amount of chances that we had but it wasn't our night.
It was mostly our Youth team, with Steve Swinglehurst involved as well, so it has been another good game for them all to play in.
It was a very difficult pitch to play on - it was very dry and bumpy - but we coped with that and we managed to keep passing the ball. Conor Tinnion was outstanding, Simon Lakeland didn't put a foot wrong all night, and there were a number of players who did themselves no harm at all. Ryan Bowman was terrific up front and that's what I want to see from him every week.
Gavin Rothery and Jeff Smith set a really good example, and it was always our intention to take them off after an hour because of their involvement with the first team, but they helped the younger lads out with their advice and their attitude.
I don't like getting beat, but there are ways and means of approaching a game and we did everything right. I have no complaints at all about our performance and no worries at all about the final result.
There have been occasions when we have been beaten badly this season at Reserve level, and we have deserved it. We didn't deserve to lose this one at all, and the only disappointing thing from the night was the poor decision that handed them a second goal. I fell out with the Ref at the end, but that's been and gone now and we can take plenty from the game overall."
