Eric Kinder reports back on the Reserve defeat at Morecambe:

"We lost 1-0, and overall it was a very disappointing performance, especially on the back of such a convincing win against Preston last week.

After that one Dennis commented that he couldn't find anyone who played below par. Unfortunately this week it was hard to find some one who played up to potential. and it was a really disappointing display.

Saying that, we had our chances to win the game, but we didn't take them. We didn't play at the right tempo, we didn't play with any desire to enjoy a game of football, and it was an awful game. The goal that they scored in the first half was poor defending, simply because we got caught too high up the pitch.

The ball got played in behind us, and there was a hint of offside, but that doesn't excuse the fact that the cross led to their centre forward being able to nod it in from inside the 6-yard box. Defensively that's just a really bad goal to give away.

We were better in the second half, but we never really got out of first gear at all. The overall display from the team was below the standard that we are looking for. We haven't got many positives to take out of it at all, other than the fact that Thirls got another 90 minutes under his belt, and he looks much better for it. Grant Smith got 90 minutes, which is another positive, as did Ziggy.

The overall picture is a very disappointing display from everybody concerned, other than Chris Howarth. Chris made an absolutely outstanding save near the end of the game but, apart from that, it was a disappointing night all round."
