Eric Kinder spoke to us about the 2-2 draw with Blackpool immediately after full time:
"First of all, let me say that today is a credit to Dave Mitchell and his ground staff. There aren't many places that would have played a Reserve fixture on the main pitch today, and it doesn't look as though it's even been damaged. That's a credit to him and it's great to have a playing surface like that, particularly when you've got a lot of senior pro's playing.
I thought they were two evenly matched sides and it could have gone either way. Both had fairly experienced teams out, and both had people who play first team football. Those sort of games usually go one way or the other, you either get a really drab, poor game, because the senior professionals don't really want to be around first team football, or they all get to grips with it. If they do that then it's as close to first team football as you're going to get, and that's what we got today.
We had a back four where we had players playing out of position, especially when Matthew Brown came on and replaced Matt Duffy (the reason Matt Duffy came off was simply that he played 90 minutes last night and he was blowing too much).
So we had a midfield player at right back, a right back at centre half and a right back at left back. Then we had Peter Murphy, who I thought led by example along with Thirlwell, and they kept the rest of the first team lads going. That makes my job easier. They played with some energy and enthusiasm, and it was a good game to watch.
I thought it was going to end up at 1-0, depending on who made the first mistake, with the amount of water on the pitch. Defensively, for the two goals, we can't be happy, but these things happen and the question at 2-0 was how were they going to respond? Were they going to think, well, its just Reserve team football, it doesn't matter - but what we saw was not a bit of it. We've come flying back out of the traps again, and we were so unlucky not to win it with Kevin Gall's effort that crashed off the post. That would have been an absolutely outstanding way to win a game.
So, credit to all the players for the way the game was played. There were a lot of good things, proper old fashioned weather, proper old fashioned tackles and the referee let the game go on. I think the draw was fine because, like I say, they were two evenly matched sides. They had a couple of chances, we had two or three chances in the first half, and probably we could have done better, but I'm quite satisfied with the result. The lads have given the manager something to think about for first team selection on Tuesday night. Luke Joyce has scored again, it won't have done Danny Graham any harm at all, getting that goal, and I'm pleased with the attitude of all of the first team lads.
All in all, I've thoroughly enjoyed my last couple of days, from Youth right through to Reserves, and I think we have got a lot of good players here at all levels."
