Joe Garner joined United on loan from Blackburn Rovers towards the end of the 2006/07 season, making 18 appearances and scoring 5 goals.
His strike away at Port Vale durinf that spell was later voted as goal of the season by United fans.
Signed permanently at the start of the 2007/08 season his signature broke United's transfer record, to the delight of his appreciative supporters.
The prolific young forward is a product of the impressive Youth Academy at Ewood Park and has also represented England at both Schoolboy and U19 level.
Strong and quick, with a tenacious appetite for goals, he is a player who likes to put himself about and who is very comfortable on the ball.
ACL injury ruled him out of the second half of the 2007/08 campaign, but his return is eagerly anticipated as he continues to work towards full fitness.
Under contract until the summer of 2010.
