Former England U19 midfielder Gavin Rothery signed a 12-month contract with Carlisle in May 2009 having enjoyed a successful short-term trial period with the club.
Rothery, a product of the Leeds United Academy, made his debut in the 2009 Easter Bank Holiday Monday away trip to Huddersfield and had an excellent pre-season campaign.
He is now looking to break into the first team reckoning.
Under contract until the summer of 2010.
