Moving from Middlesbrough he has had previous loan spells at Darlington, Derby County, Leeds and Blackpool, as well as making 15 appearances for Boro, including an appearance in the infamous 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fulham in May 2006, where he was one of ten North East born players in the Premiership's youngest ever starting line up.
A tall, strong forward, he has an eye for goal and an ability to bring others in to play, making him a real handful for opposition defenders.
Under contract until the summer of 2009.
