Danny Livesey joined Carlisle United on Christmas Eve 2004 on a month long loan from Bolton Wanderers, before making his move permanent the following month.
The Salford-born defender began his career with Bolton Wanderers after progressing through the club's academy ranks.
He made his league debut aged 17 for the Trotters in a 3-2 defeat against Liverpool at the Reebok Stadium in September 2002. He went on to make one further league appearance and four cup appearances in his two years at the club.
He gained first team experience with loan spells at Rochdale, Blackpool and Notts County before joining United on an initial loan spell in December 2004.
His debut for the Blues came in the Boxing Day clash at Morecambe, helping United to a 1-1 draw in difficult conditions. He went on to be an almost ever-present in the run up to the end of the season, missing just two games due to suspension and playing a huge part in the club winning promotion from the Conference.
It was his spot kick in the penalty shoot against Aldershot at the end of the Conference Play off semi-final that took United to Stoke's Britannia Stadium, where they would beat Stevenage to secure a return to the Football League.
The following season he went on to form part of a tough defensive unit with Kevin Gray that was a huge factor in United winning the League Two title. He also featured heavily in United's Football League Trophy run, culminating in a narrow 2-1 loss to Swansea City in the final at the Millennium Stadium.

He went on to become one of the most consistent and reliable performers in the United squad, forming an impressive partnership with Peter Murphy during the 2007/08 season. It was his performances during that campaign that earned him a place in the PFA Divisional Team of the Year for League One along with goalkeeper Kieren Westwood.
After having his number of appearances restricted by injury over the last two seasons, Danny is keen to make up for lost time and is keen to force his way into the starting line-up during the current campaign.
Calm, strong and assured with over 250 appearances for the club since moving to Cumbria, his wholehearted displays have also seen him take on vice-captain duties in recent seasons.
Under contract until the summer of 2012.
Danny is sponsored by Messengers Coaches.
