Grant Smith initially joined United in the January 2008 transfer window.
After a spell with HJK Helsinki in Finland, he spent some time training at Brunton Park and showed enough to earn a contract until the end of that season.
The former Sheffield United and Swindon playmaker has also enjoyed spells with Dundee United, Walsall and Bristol City.His presence in midfield quickly made him a favourite with the fans, and his willingness to get forward gives opposition defenders plenty to think about.
Signed a new contract in July 2008, keeping him at the club until the end of June 2009.
