United hero Hugh McIlmoyle gave us his take on the 2-1 win over Southend:
The referee spoiled the game as he kept blowing for silly little things and players kept going down injured.
It was just one of those games that never really got going but, at the end of the day, it's three points.
It could quite easily have gone either way especially when they got the first goal. We had a good view of the penalty incident and it definitely was a penalty, as Livesey was pushed to the ground.
A lot of referees don't give them; you see it happening on the TV or at other games where the referee just ignores the pushing and shoving that goes on. It was just that little bit of luck that we needed.
Both of the goalkeepers were redundant - they had very little to do. Very little in the way of goalmouth incidents.
There was a good atmosphere once we got the second goal. The way the crowd reacted to Cleveland's goal will have given him a real boost - he's quite a cult hero!
The move up to the goal was really good and then the ball got stuck between Danny Graham's feet and he took the next best option in passing it to Cleveland. I thought the chance was gone but he took it well. Young Evan Horwood took some punishment but he kept going right through.
It was a good workman-like performance with a poor first half followed by a big improvement in the second.
The game as a whole was played in poor conditions, with a very poor referee ... but at least he gave the penalty.
It's another three points and it keeps us up there with Oldham, who have also made a good start.
That's all it is at present - you can't really tell what sort of season its going to be until after around ten or twelve games, but the signs are very good at the moment.
