luke joyce19-year-old midfielder Luke Joyce played the whole of the second half at the Matchroom Stadium, putting in yet another assured performance in what was a real tussle of a game.

He told us afterwards: "We expected them to be physical and that's how they approached it. It was never going to be easy. The goal ... I feel a bit responsible for that. I was on the back post when the ball first came in, then I came off it and moved away, and then I tried to get back on to it again. By then he was already shooting. Maybe I could have got my head to it if I'd stayed still, but I couldn't see it from where I was and it flew past me. I don't know, it was a good shot, so maybe I wouldn't have got it anyway."

"I enjoyed the game, though," he added. "I'm loving playing, and I just want to take every chance that comes my way. It's just a shame that every game I am involved with seems to have some kind of twist. It'd be nice to cruise to a simple win for a change! Seriously, though, I really am enjoying playing for the club and hopefully I'll be here for many years to come."

"I think it would be easy to get down about not winning at Orient," he said, "but the Gaffer has warned against that. Like he said, any point away from home is good. We've come to a place like this, where they are battling for their lives, and their manager is bound to have asked for them to get out there and show everyone what they are made of. I think you have to look at how well we played, and take the positives from the game. We've got a big game against Chesterfield, and if we can win that then it will set us up nicely again."

For his own future, he told us: "Every time I go on the pitch I just get out there to try and impress people. I will always give my best and, hopefully, that will be enough to show the manager what I can do. Like I say, this is a fantastic club, the fans are being superb with me, and I would like to be here for years and years to come, if it was possible."
