THERE'S ONLY ONE DEGGSY

He's the voice of Carlisle United for Radio Cumbria and he has become the main source of information for exiled Cumbrians and Blues fan worldwide on a Match Day.
On top of that, he gets opinion and reaction throughout the week, taking regular trips down Warwick Road to keep up with the latest goings on. Following the team around the country, he brings the match to your front room on a blow by blow basis, and is always first to interview the Manager after the final whistle.
He is, of course, Mr Derek Lacey.
Our Deggsy was presented with a home shirt on the pitch at half time of the match yesterday and, with a little help from the Radio Cumbria studios, it was arranged that Derek would have time to run down the steps, get his way through reception and down the tunnel, and collect his 'twelfth man' shirt from club Chairman Andrew Jenkins.
Once the presemtation was done, and the photographs taken, Derek then had to dash back up to his commentary position to take his place at the microphone for the second half, with no disruption to his broadcast.
In true professional broadcasting manner, he made it back with time to spare (however, co-commentator Mike Corry had failed to supply the half time pie, so some harsh words were needed off air).
Well done, and thanks, to Derek from everyone at the club, Radio Cumbria, and from both the radio and internet listeners.
