All smiles as United keep winning
Hugh McIlmoyle continues his review of the Carlisle United home games:

"That was an enjoyable match - it's good to win especially over a League One team. That's the second one we've beaten in this competition. It is a pity, though, that the fans haven't taken to this cup at the early stages but it was good to see a good number there from Blackpool.

Although I always like watching football, the goals came at just the right time as it was getting a bit chilly. We scored two good goals. Hawley's goal on Saturday was good but last night's was better - he really gives the ball a good leathering. That's four consecutive games he's scored in and that's a good record by any standards. It was good to see Derek Holmes score as well after his shot in the first half had hit the keeper. We made quite a few chances - and I thought Nade had scored but it was not to be.

Blackpool passed the ball around well - just like Oxford on Saturday - but they didn't hurt us at all. We were the better team and we deserved to win. The game was played in a good spirit - I don't recall any cards being given but we should have had a penalty when their lad put his hand up to clear the ball.

We're on a high at present - we've scored fourteen goals in the last four matches - and we're playing well as a team. We did well to hit back straight away on Tuesday. I thought Keiren Westwood was outstanding again as he made all the right decisions.

Danny Livesey had another outstanding game as well. Karl Hawley is just getting better and better - he doesn't need much space to get his shot away. Chris Lumsdon is also getting better with every game. It was good to see both wingers doing a lot of work chasing back - they were really having a go at Blackpool's full backs.

Everything is looking rosy in the garden at present - we're boiling over with confidence, ready for the big game on Saturday. I know Wycombe have not lost yet this season but they've drawn a lot of games and actually haven't won as many as us. It promises to be a really good match that we can all look forward to."
