New keeper Anthony Williams is winning more and more fans by the week with his performances in the United goal and earned one or two mentions in the national press following his wonder save against Lincoln.
We decided to quiz him about that and some other stuff:
You must have enjoyed the game on Monday? Yes, it's always nice to keep a clean sheet. It's just unfortunate that we didn't score on the day. Every time we keep a clean sheet, if we score we'll win - that's obvious. As a defensive unit we've done our thing but, on another day, we could have easily won.
You pulled off a spectacular save there? Yeah, I turned and had a dive for it. I knew where it was going and I was just lucky it came off the top of my hand and over the bar. You go out and dive and maybe sometimes you won't get there. Maybe it goes past me on some occasions but I went for that one and managed to get it. It was a good save, I enjoyed the moment, but the clean sheet was the most important thing. That came from the whole team, not just me.
As you say, the defensive unit has been particularly good this season? Yes, three clean sheets in six games, you can't ask for much better than that. Obviously we did concede three in one game, but that was a one off and you'd sacrifice that for three clean sheets. Like i said earlier, every time we keep a clean sheet it means we only need one goal to win.
We hear that you are helping out at the Centre of Excellence as well? Yes, I'm there every Thursday taking the young lads. It's good down there as there are quite a few good young goalkeepers. I think it's nice for them as well. If I was young and looking up I think it's nice that the first team goalkeeper comes down and spends some time to train with them. It's good for them but is something I really enjoy. I did it last season as well and it is definitely something I'd look to do in the future. I thought about getting coaching qualifications this summer but, with not knowing where I was going and with the wife expecting a baby, I didn't get round to it. It's something I'm still thinking about though. I've been playing for 12/13 years now and I have been coached by top coaches at Blackburn and with the Wales U21s. I'd like to get into it but at the moment I'm really just concentrating on and enjoying my football, that's the priority.
As he was walking past Dave Wilkes chipped in with, "it's been great for the lads to have Anthony as a keeper coach. He brings so much professionalism and experience, it's given them a real lift. He enjoys it and they enjoy it so it's a good arrangement for everyone."
