United will be cheered on by their biggest away following in the league for four years this weekend's top of the table clash at Sheffield Wednesday.
Sales for the big game at Hillsborough passed the 2,000 mark this afternoon as United fans continue to snap up tickets for the eagerly awaited encounter.
As ever, we advise that fans buy tickets in advance for the game but we can confirm it willl also be possible to pay on the day of the game.
Full details on ticket prices for the game can be found by clicking here.
The last time over 2,000 fans travelled to a United away league game came in September 2006, when 2,461 supporters made the trip to Nottingham Forest's City Ground for a 0-0 draw against the former European Cup winners.
United could go top of League One if they defeat the Owls on Saturday, with just one point currently separating the two sides.
Manager Greg Abbott said: "We know that our fans will always follow us through thick and thin and we're really pleased that they will be turning out in such big numbers again this weekend.
"We've had a couple of long journeys so far this season so it's good for the fans that we now have a relatively short journey to South Yorkshire.
"Whether it's a few hundred at Colchester or over 2,000 at Sheffield Wednesday, the support they give is always magnificent and it really does make a big difference to the players.
"We've had a good start to the season and hopefully we can keep that going this weekend at Hillsborough."
Fans are also reminded that the Blues Store will be open from 9am on Saturday to allow anyone travelling on the supporters coaches the chance to buy merchandise, including the first issue of United Scene magazine, an ideal piece of reading material for the journey down!
