KEEP MOVING ALONG

Posted on: Tue 07 Sep 2010

United winger Matt Robson spoke to the media following the 0-0 draw with Swindon Town at Brunton Park on Saturday.

He said: "You can look at it as being a frustrating game but I think the way we see it is that it's another game unbeaten.

"We've worked hard, we've kept a clean sheet and we are keeping the momentum going. They showed last year that they are one of the stronger teams in the division, so this is a good result for us.

"They tried to match us up man-for-man but it didn't really seem to click for them in the way that it did for us. It got a bit scrappy in the second half but there are plenty of positives to take from it for us.

"I lost count of the number of times I saw James Berrett get the ball into the box today and we just needed one of them to be finished off. On another day they will be, but the important thing is that we were creating chances.

"Adam Collin will be over the moon that we have another clean sheet. They had a couple of chances, but we had ours, and the point keeps us moving along in the right area of the table.

"I've been chomping at the bit since day one to get onto the pitch. It's frustrating but it's part of football and you have to keep working hard and get on with it.

"I know I'm going to get my chance so I'll just keep going and make sure that I'm ready when it comes.

"The formation doesn't really suit wingers at the moment so Kev Hurst has found himself in the same situation. There will be a time when we will be needed so we have to make sure that we stay on top of our game.

"There's no point sulking about it. The results show that the manager has got it right. Obviously it does affect you because you want to be playing 90 minutes every week, but I'm professional enough to know that this can happen. All I can do is work hard and keep showing the gaffer what I can do.

"He has spoken to me about the fact that the formation isn't really suited to me, but he has told me that my chance will come. He has told me I have every right to be disappointed after the season I had, and it's nice of him to say that.

"Like I say, I'm very confident that the chance will come and, when it does, I'll be ready to take it with both hands.

"We've got a good squad of lads here and confidence is high. I'm not going to be a bad apple in amongst all that. Spirits are high and we go into every game determined to win it.

"They don't come much bigger than Sheffield Wednesday but we're going into it on a high. There are some massive teams in this division but I think we'll hold our own. We know what we have in this group and if we can stay together and relatively injury free we'll be hard to deal with."
