United manager Greg Abbott spoke to us today about the contribution that striker Craig Curran has made to the successful start to the season.

He said: "I think the fans are looking at what Craig does and they love his energy and work rate.

"He's a coach's dream. He gives everything whether it's on the training pitch or during the game and he just needs a little bit of luck in front of goal now.

"If he adds goals to his game then he could easily be the signing of the year. His work ethic and his contribution to the team is fantastic.

"The lads idolise him because of what he brings to the dressing room. Gary Madine has complemented him so well and they seem to be bringing the best out of each other in terms of how they work together.

"If the pair of them can continue in this way and if they can either score the goals or have a part in creating them then they won't be going too far wrong."
