Attendance - 3,034

1549 - A decent work out for United this afternoon sees Ian Harte's late header give them a victory to end the pre-season fixtures. While Adam Collin was only sporadically tested, the defence looked comfortable with Chester impressing. Plenty of positives from that and it's now just six days before the League One season starts at Brunton Park against Brentford next Saturday. Join us from about 2pm then for another min by min report.

FULL-TIME - Carlisle United 1 Hibernian 0

89 min - Curran is hauled down on the right and it's a free-kick to United. Harte goes over and whips in a cross-shot that Smith is scurrying to palm behind even though it was probably going wide. Robson's corner into the middle looks for Price but Stephens gets up to head it away.

87 min - A superb bit of determination from Simek there sees him win the ball deep in the Hibs half. He sets Price away down the right and his cut back finds Curran who hits a low shot that Smith almost spills in the net but his parry took just enough power out of the ball for him to claw it off the line.

86 min - Bit of a scramble in the United half sees Simek and Harte get blocks in before it falls to Riordan on the left, but his shot is a tame one and easily held by Collin.

85 min - United push forward for another and MBW tries a quick early ball to Price but it's just ahead of the United man and goes out for a goal kick.

83 min - In all the excitement there I managed to add 6 minutes on the time of the goal! 82 is the correct time. Meanwhile, up the other end a long range effort form a Hibs attacker goes just wide of Collin's goal.

82 min  - GOAL! Carlisle United 1 Hibernian 0 - Good play down the right by Taiwo wins United a corner. Berrett takes it, whipping the ball into the near post where Ian Harte gets away from his marker before heading past a helpless Smith in the Hibs goal.

81 min - He's not had a huge amount to do in the second-half, but that's a really smart stop by Collin, blocking with his leg after a great turn and shot by Stokes.

79 min - Good chest down by Curran from a ball forward by Chester sets up MBW, but his right-foot half-volley goes harmlessly wide of the Hibs goal.

77 min - It's now absolutely chucking it down here at Brunton Park as Riordan cuts inside from the left before sending a curling shot straight into the arms of Collin.

75 min - Hibs make their final change, with Danny Galbraith coming off for Lee Currie.

73 min - Good ball down the left by Murphy is chased down by Price. He collects it near the byline before cutting back and playing it to MBW. He looks up and tries an audacious dipping shot that has Smith stranded but he's relieved to see it go just over over the bar. Good play by United.

67 min - United make another change, with Francois Zoko coming off for a very hearty round of applause from the home support and he's replaced by Marc Bridge-Wilkinson.

65 min - So close to an opener for United as Simek's throw-in results in a goalmouth scramble that sees the ball fall to Curran, but his left-foot shot takes a deflection and trickles agonisingly wide for a corner. Berrett takes the corner but it's well defending by the Hibs defence with Price waiting to pounce.

63 min - Hibs make a couple more changes, with Murray and Hart coming off for Stevenson and Thicot.

60 min - United make their changes too, with Price and Murphy coming on for Madine and McDaid.

59 min - Time for several changes for either side, as Hibs take off Brown, Nish, De Graaf and someone else for Smith, Wotherspoon, McBride and Miller.

56 min - Bit of a slower start to the second half but Hibs break and Nish is played through but it's a good offside trap by the United defence as he's flagged by the referee's assistant.

48 min - Madine is tackled just inside the United half and Hibs break away down the left. The ball finds Riordan who twists and turns before hitting a shot wide of Collin's goal.

1503 - With the officials now all back out as well, Hibs get us underway for the second-half.

1502 - Both teams are now back out for the second half and it looks like Hibs have made one change with Chris Hogg coming off for Paul Hanlon. United have made two changes, with Berrett and Curran on for Thirlwell and Hurst.

1446 - So it's all square at the break, with United probably having the better of the chances but the Scottish side looking a big threat on the break, constantly looking to use Riordan and Stokes on either wing. Stand out man for United is Zoko, whose shown plenty of good touches on the ball and ability to find space. Should be an interesting second half. Back soon!

HALF-TIME - Carlisle United 0 Hibernian 0

45 min - Zoko sells Hart a superb dummy on the left wing before bringing the ball into the area but his pass to Madine is well intercepted by Hogg.

44 min - Hibs go on the counter again and it eventually comes to Riordan on the left. He cuts inside before trying a looping curling shot that has Collin stranded but thankfully for him goes high and wide.

41 min - Hurst cuts in from the right and finds an advancing McDaid. He brings it forward before hitting a low shot from 30 yards that's well held by Brown, with Madine and Zoko both lurking for a possible parry.

38 min - While Collin can be thankful for the assistant's flag hiding his embarrassment earlier, at the other end Brown can be thankful for a lucky bounce as his clearance is charged down by Paul Thirlwell but luckily goes to safety when it could easily have ended up in the back of his net.

37 min - Simek goes on a charging run after being setup by Hurst but he's brought down by Murray about 20 yards out. Perfect Ian Harte territory, the United defender steps up and whips in a free kick that goes just over Brown's bar.

35 min - Corner to Hibs on their left after a cross is blocked by Chester. It's taken by Riordan who tries to find Murray but Zoko does enough to put him off and it goes out for a goal kick to United.

31 min - Robson takes a quick throw that finds McDaid. He sends in a cross that finds Madine and his lay off is right into the path of Hurst but he can't quite twist his body enough to get anything behind his volley, which is easy for Brown to claim.

30 min - Free-kick to Hibs about 30 yards out after a foul by Taiwo. It's John Rankin who steps up and fires a low left-foot shot that somehow goes through Adam Collin's body and into the back of the net... but the United keeper's blushes have been saved by the linesman, who spots that a Hibs attacker sneaked into an offside position and got a slight touch that was enough to get the goal disallowed. Have to admit, I'm not convinced by that decision!

28 min - A good touch from Galbraith sets Stokes away down the Hibs right. He then whips in a great cross that Collin can't risk coming for but Nish at the far post can't quite get on the end of it. Good bit of coutner attacking play from Hibs there.

23 min - A handball by Taiwo gives Hibs a free-kick about 25 yards out. It's Riordan who takes it but it's a dreadful attempt that flies well over Collin's bar.

21 min - Zoko is causing all kinds of problems for the Hibs defence so far and he finds Robson the on the left after some good play. He cuts inside and sends in a lovely cross with his right foot but both Madine and Hurst can't quite get on the end of it.

20 min - Good driving run from Zoko sees the Ivorian forward felled by a Hibs defender, giving United a free-kick about 25 yards out on the left. Harte takes it and whips in a cross that somehow misses everyone and goes out for a goal kick. Decent ball in but no-one really took a gamble on it.

17 min - Lovely link-up play involving Robson, Zoko and McDaid sees the latter hit a low cross that is blocked and goes for a corner. Robson takes this one and his left-footed outswinger finds Harte unmarked in the six-yard box but he can't get over the ball and his header ends up with the Hibs fans in the Waterworks End.

16 min - Simek does well down the right and earns United yet another corner. It's Hurst who takes it this time but his right-footed outswinger doesn't find a United player and it's cleared to safety.

14 min - Taiwo finds space on the right and advances forward before dinking a lovely cross to the far post that Zoko brings down but Hart comes across and blocks his volley, before Zoko is penalised for his challenge on keeper Brown.

13 min - Free-kick to United on the left-wing just inside the Hibs half as Galbraith brings down McDaid. Harte takes it and his long kick finds Madine who nods it down for Hurst but he can't get enough behind his header and it's held by Brown.

10 min - Hibs finally earn a corner themselves as Galbraith's shot is deflected behind off Chester. Rankin's corner to the edge of the box finds Riordan unmarked but his volley is blocked by Thirlwell.

8 min - Another corner to United as Zoko is tackled on the edge of the box. Yet again it's from the right so Robson goes over and takes a left-footed inswinger but it's way too long and ends up going for a throw-in on the far side.

4 min - Good ball out wide by Chester finds Robson who looks for Zoko at the far post with his cross but it's flicked behind again by Murray. Robson takes it again from the right and tries to find Chester but the HIbs defence clears it to safety.

2 min - Good play down the right by Zoko sees his cross deflected behind for a corner off Ian Murray. It's Matty Robson who takes it, almost finding Gary Madine and from the loose ball, Tom Taiwo heads towards goal but it's well held by Hibs keeper Mark Brown.

1400 - So it's United who gets us underway this afternoon, kicking towards the Waterworks End in the first half.

1357 - The two teams are now out, with One Step Beyond belting out over the tannoy. The visitors are in their first choice green and white kit today, while United will again line-up wearing the all red away kit.

1342 - Visitors Hibernian make five changes from the side that last 3-0 to Slovenian side NK Maribor on Thursday night, with Brown, Stephens, Galbraith, Stokes and Riordan coming in for Stack, Hanlon, Miller, McBride and Wotherspoon. It's a pretty strong side for the Easter Road outfit who will be looking to give their fans a good showing after that disappointment a few days ago.

1335 - So United's line-up today includes Francois Zoko, making his first appearance at Brunton Park after signing a one-year deal following his successful trial spell. We think United will start with a 4-3-3, with Zoko in midfield alongside Thirlwell and Taiwo, but it could easily be switched to a 4-4-2 as well. Also in the line-up is Manchester United defender James Chester, with a view to a loan deal. More on that possible move can be found by clicking here

1318 - Good afternoon everyone and welcome to today's min by min report for the friendly against SPL side Hibernian. The Edinburgh based club will be looking for a good performance after a disappointing 3-0 defeat in a Europa League qualifier in midweek and should provide a good test for United. Full team line-ups for both sides can be found at the top of the page.
