NEW FACE FOR SUNDAY

Posted on: Sat 31 Jul 2010

Mobile phones have been in melt-down mode at Brunton Park over the course of the last 36-hours as the management team have been working hard to secure the arrival of some new faces ahead of the last first team pre-season friendly of the summer.

Managing director John Nixon said: "We're delighted to be able to report that it looks like all of the hard work has paid off.

"We will definitely have one and possibly even two players from a Premier League team in our squad tomorrow. It's good news for us as we continue to work towards the first game of the season next weekend."

Manager Greg Abbott said: "We've spent a lot of time on the phone with one of the top Premier League clubs and we are delighted with how it has gone.

"Out of courtesy we won't name names just yet, as there is still a little bit of work to do, but we should be in a position to say more ahead of kick off tomorrow."
