44 min - PENALTY TO UNITED - A foul on Zoko just inside the box, with the big Ivorian forward to take the spot kick himself.
45 min - GOAL! Middlesbrough 0 Carlisle United 1- Just on the stroke of half-time, Francois Zoko steps up and confidently strokes home the penalty to open the scoring.
HALF-TIME - Middlesbrough 0 Carlisle United 1 - So that Zoko penalty gives United a half-time lead. A fair scoreline, with United having the better of chances including two good free-kicks from Peter Murphy that went just wide. United keeper Tony Caig was only tested once, but had to be alert to palm away a good effort from a Boro attacker.
FULL-TIME - Middlesbrough 0 Carlisle United 1 - No more goals in the second half as Zoko's first half penalty earns United a win over the North East side. Boro had the best chance after the break, with Tony Kane clearing one chance off the line. Next game up for the first team is this Sunday against SPL side Hibernian at Brunton Park, with a 2pm kick-off.
