Sunderland defender Jean-Yves M'Voto will start for United in today's friendly fixture against Premier League side Newcastle United (kick off 1pm) having joined the Cumbrians for their pre-match Friday training session yesterday.

French-born M'Voto, 21, was signed from Paris St Germaine for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2008 having made 41 appearances for his home-town club.

He spent much of last season on-loan with Southend United where he played 17 games and scored one goal.

United manager Greg Abbott said: "It's a chance for us to have a look at him and for him to have a look at us, then we can take it from there."
