Carlisle United can confirm that they have reached an agreement with Coventry City regarding the transfer of defender Richard Keogh.
The 23-year old former Bristol City player turned down a new contract at Brunton Park two weeks ago after asking for time to think over his initial rejection in the middle of May.
His performances last season earned rave reviews and saw him walk away with a number of trophies at the End of Season awards ceremony.
He has now agreed a move to the Ricoh Arena on a three-year deal and will join his new club on 1 July when his contract with United expires.
Due to being under the age of 24, United are due compensation for Richard's services and an agreement has been reached between the two clubs.
Greg Abbott said: "We made a good offer to Richard at the end of last season and we wanted him to stay, but in the end he decided his future lay elsewhere.
"He made it clear he wanted to test himself at a higher level and he's going to get the opportunity to do that at Coventry. He was brilliant for us in his two years here and we wish him all the best for the future."
