Carlisle United will start their 2010/11 campaign here at Brunton Park with a repeat of last season's opening day fixture with Brentford as the visitors.
Brentford, who finished ninth last time round in their first season back at npower League One level, will provide stiff opposition, as was shown last year when they took away a 3-1 victory thanks to two second half goals.
The first away trip of the new season takes Carlisle on the mammoth trip to Plymouth, one of the division new boys following their disappointing stay in the Championship.
Manager Greg Abbott said: "it's good to start things off at home and that's something for us all to now look forward to.
"Obviously we then have the Carling Cup game that same week, so it's a chance for us to kick things off properly and perhaps set off on the right foot.
"With the fixtures now out, it really does start to focus the mind and everything is now geared towards Brentford and that opening day here at Brunton Park. It's a good one, and the preparation starts now."
